Today, still living in times of uncertainty and change due to COVID-19, I would like to share the TEDtalk of my coachee and our third speaker Jacqui Brassey, PhD, MAfN:
Jacqui Brassey is an international ‘pracademic’ and loves to build bridges between practice and science. She is a Global Director of Learning & Development and Global Learning Leadership Team member at McKinsey & Company. Furthermore she is Adjunct Professor at IE University in Madrid and visiting research fellow at the VU University in Amsterdam. She is a proud member of the Supervisory Board of Save the Children in the Netherlands. In 2011 she received her PhD in International Business and Economics, specializing in Leadership and Diversity research at the University of Groningen. She holds a Cum Laude Masters degree in Organization sciences from the University of Tilburg and a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business and Languages from the Avans University of Applied Sciences in den Bosch. She is a real ‘lifelong learner’ and looks forward to graduating in 2020 for her MSc. in Affective Neuroscience from the University of Maastricht. She is a (co)-author of over 15 book-/chapters, articles and papers. In 2019 she published her latest book together with Prof. dr. Nick van Dam and Prof. dr. Arjen van Witteloostuijn on ‘Advancing Authentic Confidence’

‘Zoning In en Out of Stress’
In this talk, Jacqui will talk about the different zones of stress and how they impact the brain and body. Next to that, she will discuss how a feeling of safety can get us in a powerful zone and how a small trigger can, very easily, get us in a zone of stress. This TED talk teaches us how to become aware of these zones and how to proactively navigate them.
